A Special-Ops commander leads his team into the Nigerian jungle in order to rescue a doctor who will only join them if they agree to save 70 refugees too. Navy SEAL Lieutenant A.K. Waters and his elite squadron of tactical specialists are forced to choose between their duty and their humanity, between following orders by ignoring the conflict that surrounds them, or finding the courage to follow their conscience and protect a group of innocent refugees. When the democratic government of Nigeria collapses and the country is taken over by a ruthless military dictator, Waters, a fiercely loyal and hardened veteran is dispatched on a routine mission to retrieve a Doctors Without Borders physician, Dr. Lena Kendricks. Dr. Kendricks, an American citizen by marriage, is tending to the victims of the ongoing civil war at a Catholic mission in a remote village. When Waters arrives, however, Dr. Kendricks refuses to leave unless he promises to help deliver the villagers to political asylum at the nearby border. If they are left behind, they will be at the mercy of the enormous rebel army. Waters is under strict orders from his commanding officer Captain Bill Rhodes to remain disengaged from the conflict. But as he and his men witness the brutality of the rebels first-hand, they are won over to Dr. Kendricks' cause and place their lives at risk by agreeing to escort the villagers on a perilous trek through the dense jungle. As they move through the countryside on foot, Waters' team, experts at evasion and concealment, are inexplicably and ferociously pursued by an army of rebels. They are confounded until they discover that, among the refugees, is the sole survivor of the country's previous ruling family, whom the rebels have been ordered to eliminate at all costs. Waters and his small band of soldiers must weigh the life of one man against their own and the refugees they feel obliged to protect. It is the first time I am writing a review for a movie because I feel so cheated. I chose the movie impressed by the director's reputation and Willis' past record. However, I sensed a let down in the first five minutes of TOTS. Still I stoically plodded through the whole movie waiting for a surprise. It never came. Monica's character inspired disgust. She was forgivable only if you regarded her plain dumb. There is nothing Bruce Willis could have done to save the poor script which he didn't do. Willis' commander's actions didn't make any sense. All other characters were half baked. I have read better comics.

Bottom line: AVOID LIKE PLAGUE! Why would movie makes not pay any attention to detail?

One can overlook the weak story line, the weak action scenes and inconsistent events throughout the film (ask why the first lot of helicopters would fly past the mission to go and pick up the doctor at the LZ and then fly back over it (err..just pick her up from the mission ..saves a lot of walking)..or how they managed to get around the "Nigerian" soldiers and to Cameroonian border by going BACKWARDS.. or how the helicopters at the end managed to make it to the border at the same time as the F18 hornets.. etc etc ) .. BUT…

As an English person that has lived in Nigeria I have to ask, how could the producers of this film pass it off as a film about Nigeria when …there is nothing about Nigeria in the film… as a matter of fact, I think the only two things to suggest this film had anything to do with Nigeria were the fact that the actors said the words "Nigeria" and "Nigerian" .. and the Nigerian map in the debriefing room.

The film starts of with music that is not Nigerian. There is archive news footage .. that is not Nigerian (actually footage from war in Liberia)… there … The actors in the film do not look Nigerian (looking through the credits I could only recognise 3 names as Nigerian)… the Jungle is not in Nigeria (..looks more like Hawaii) .. the languages spoken are not Nigerian.. etc etc

I do think that they could have tried to at least make an accurate representation of the country in question .. and it seriously makes you wonder about the validity of other films that try and tell a story with a message… I was really looking forward to this film and I must say was totally disappointed.. The impressioins of countries like Nigeria that are made by Hollywood are ridiculous … shame now I don't think I can enjoy Black Hawk Down as I once did…

BTW… bearing in mind that Nigeria does have an Air force .. if they wanted to kill some solders in the jungle… they would probably send planes and helicopters rather than have soldiers run through the night like orcs from LOTR… ;) In a movie with so much graphic suffering by innocent Africans, it’s a bit disconcerting that so much loving attention is paid to Bruce Willis’s anguished mug. There’s an uncomfortable Great White Father (and Mother) aspect to this movie. After the first brief assault, Slo is hit by some shrapnel from an RPG and dies soon after. In the second part of the battle, Lake is killed defending a refugee (the refugee is killed regardless), Flea is shot in the head while laying down suppressing fire, a retreat is then ordered. As the squad retreats across the river, Silk is shot numerous times in the upper torso and dies in the creek bed.

Zee is shot three times center-mass but survives. Waters, Doc and Red are all shot at least once but with minor wounds.

Numerous refugees are killed by RPG's and gunfire, Dr. Kendricks was hit by shrapnel due to being too close to an explosion, but she survives. The film tiptoes around this idea. Red asks Waters "Why don't we just get Doc to tranq her the fuck out?" Waters replies with "That's a real good idea, drugging and kidnapping an American doctor…". The subject basically ends there. If they had, it would have made for a very short and pointless movie obviously. The possible reasoning could be that Waters had been getting "soft" for quite a wehil. It's unlikely he all of a sudden changed how he felt about doing missions as we saw in the movie. So he avoided giving a valid excuse to Red when he suggested tranquilizing Dr. Kendricks as he sympathized with her passion to stay and help the people. He wanted to save the people as much as she did, but it wasn't part of his mission. He was probably toying with the idea the entire trip to the helicoptors. When they finally reached the helicoptor he decided to follow through with his original mission. Then when they saw the devastation of the village, it was more than Waters could bear to have happen to the people he left behind. Nearly two years after its first release on DVD, Sony published a so-called Director's Extended Cut that features a 20 minutes longer version. Several of the new scenes are Deleted Scenes, that could already be seen on the first release that have been integrated into the movie now. a5c7b9f00b Are You Tough Enough sub downloadFlor seca en tu cuaderno full movie in hindi 1080p downloaddownload full movie Silent Block in hindiBlanket Fort tamil dubbed movie free downloadGolden Age full movie hd 1080p downloadtamil movie Raiders of Ghost City free downloadThe Watchers in hindi 720pCall of Duty: WWII movie downloadThe Divergent Series: Ascendant full movie in hindi free download mp4Superman Batman: Public Enemies full movie hd 720p free download
