I'll still stick with StudioPress - Although it is a much higher learning curve - the templates/themes are designed to not only look good but run great "out of the box".
But - I'm not a huge fan of the 'kitchen-sink' approach that today's themes try and do. They add all of the latest and greatest html5/css/javascript tricks into one theme along with page builders etc - which just kill a website's performance.
